Welcome to ICON Dance Company Inc.
ICON Dance Company Inc. was founded in 2019 by siblings Jen and Chris Zacharias. Entering our fourth season of dance education, we welcome all students and new dancers to join the classes and programs we have created. Our studio teaches ADAPT Jazz/Tap and RAD Ballet Syllabus. Classes in Hip Hop, Acro, Contemporary/Lyrical and Musical Theatre are also available. We have a Competitive Program that offers dancers an opportunity to perform at a higher level on a team of their peers! Miss. Jen Zacharias
Miss. Jen Zacharias is Co-Owner and Director of ICON Dance Company. She has been teaching and educating students in dance for over 20 years. She has been dancing since the age of 3 and trained in multiple disciplines of dance. She has also completed all levels of ADAPT Jazz exams. She is an accomplished instructor and choreographer.
Miss. Jen is a certified ADAPT teacher in Jazz and Tap, and is certified in Acrobatic Arts Level 1 and 2. She has had many students show great success in exams and hopes to continue that legacy at ICON Dance Company.
Miss Jen has also choreographed hundreds of competitive routines throughout her career, she brings unique and special choreography to each dancer and routine, and has received many accolades for her dances.
Mr. Chris Zacharias
Mr. Chris Zacharias is Co-Owner and Director at ICON Dance Company. Having spent most of his life in the dance world in Calgary, he grew up dancing and training from the age of 9. He has spent many years taking classes from various choreographers, in many different styles of dance.
He is an ADAPT certified teacher in both Tap and Jazz. He has taken many years of teacher education to further the ever growing expectation of dance. He also attends multiple seminars and conventions to get new insight and inspiration to pass to all of his students.
Mr. Chris is an accomplished choreographer who has spent many hours choreographing and perfecting hundreds of dance routines throughout his career. His choreography has won multiple overall and choreography awards, for which his students are very proud.

MIss. Cara lopez orellana
Miss. Cara begins her 4th season with ICON Dance Company. She has been teaching ballet for 6 years and has danced for 21 years since the age of 6. She continues to train herself in classes and workshops to gain knowledge and skills to share with her students at ICON.
She has completed graded Ballet Exams up to and including Grade 8 and Vocational Exams up to and including Advanced 2. She will be training towards her RAD Ballet Teaching Certification over the coming years. She is an enthusiastic teacher who hopes to impart her love and knowledge of ballet and dance onto her students.
Miss. Adrianna Kynoch
Miss. Adrianna has been a student of ICON Dance Company since we began in 2019. She begins her 1st season on the teaching staff with ICON this year. She has recently graduated from High school and is excited to begin this new phase of her dance career. She brings leadership and guidance to every student at the studio.
She has been dancing since the age of 3 many disciplines of dance. Miss. Adrianna will be teaching, Jazz, Ballet, Acro, Musical Theatre and Contemporary/Lyrical this season. She brings positive energy to every class she teaches and looks forward to continuing passing her love of dance to each of her students.
Miss. Avery Bjornson
Miss. Avery is one of our senior students having danced with us since day one of opening ICON. She continues to dance competitively and in class, but will take on a teaching role this year as well. She brings positivity and creativity to every class she attends and will impart that attitude to her students every day.
Miss. Avery will be teaching Hip Hop, Tap, Acro and Musical Theatre.
Miss. Jaqueline Johnson
Miss Jaqueline has been dancing since the age of 3 and teaching dancers for over a decade. She brings experience, creativity and a passion for dance to our students. She is an ADAPT certified teacher and studied dance in school for 4 years in Toronto.
Miss. Jaqueline joins us this year to teach Contemporary and Lyrical.
